Youth and Children’s Ministries Team

Description:

A ministry of the Session, consisting of members and adherents from the congregation, plus any elders designated to it by the Session. The chairperson will be selected annually from within the Team and approved by Session at each June meeting.

Responsibilities:

To be responsible for investigating, planning and promoting Christian Programs and/or ministries for young people of all ages.

The team is expected to present any recommendations to the Session that it deems necessary to fulfill its responsibility (as further outlined in Section 111 of the Book of Forms).  The team should hold sufficient and regular meetings to allow for congregational involvement, input and feedback.

Duties:

1. To investigate the needs within the congregation and surrounding community and then investigate, develop and promote the implementation of relevant programs/events to minister to and with the youth/children.
2. To recruit leaders/leadership teams for youth programs/events.
3. To liaison with all outside youth/children programs using our church facilities.
4. To over see the nursery and ensure that it is regularly staffed by qualified personnel.
5. To prepare and present proposed annual budget needs to the Board of Managers.
6. To submit a written report (usually prepared by the Chairperson) at each regular Session meeting, so that the Session may be kept informed and up-to-date.
7. To submit team information (usually prepared by the Chairperson) to be included in each congregational newsletter so that the congregation can be kept informed regarding work/events of the team.
8. To actively recruit, future members of the team as needed
