NEW For Teens Only (FTO)

For Teens Only (FTO) is a new Youth Group that will meet every other Tuesday, beginning September 30, 2008, from 6:30 pm-8:30 pm.

In addition to some great group activities, each get-together will spend time in Bible study, worship & praise, prayer and “roundtable” discussions as Teens gain a new perspective on God’s Word and how it speaks to every area of their lives. The journey’s challenging, but it’s also fun and exciting!

Free to all Teenagers 13-19 years.

For more information on either of the youth groups contact

KidZone is an entertaining and educational weekly program for grades 1 to 12. The program combines food, faith, friendship and fun, and runs from just after Labour Day to May Victoria Weekend – approx.

For 2-1/2 hours, every Monday evening, children and youth experience living the Christian faith through group dinners, co-operative recreation, uplifting worship & praise, reflective Bible study and prayer

KidZone! is designed to nurture enriching Christian relationships, as participants celebrate being part of God’s family, as we eat, worship, study, and have a great time within a safe, encouraging environment!

Registration: $85.00 per child (or pay-as-you-go $3.00 per child each week)
Total of 30 weeks.

Note: there will be breaks at Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s & March Break.  While it’s not mandatory, parents are encouraged to volunteer and help/participate in the KidZone! program (in an area that they feel gifted to serve in) as often as they like.  Parents can also enjoy dinner for only $3.00 per person.

Typical Agenda
Dinner (35-minutes + 10-minutes clean-up time…everybody helps, as they are able). Each week’s program begins in the church hall, promptly at 5:30pm, with a delicious fun-theme dinner featuring “kid-friendly” food.  Some of the planned dinner themes include “Utensil Nite”, “Horrible Hair Nite”, “What Animal Am I 2Nite”, and “Silly Hat Nite”.

Fun & Games (25-minutes) Following dinner,
everybody stays in the hall for a time of co-operative recreation, with Bible-theme games and activities suited for all ages.  Whether it’s a scavenger hunt, team race or group game, a fun time is guaranteed!

Worship (30 minutes + 5-minutes transition time)
Worship time will be energetic and uplifting, and will include the singing of contemporary worship songs, and a lively scripture-based message.

Following Worship, the kids break up in to smaller groups for age-appropriate Study Time. Juniors (Grades 1-4), Seniors (Grades 5-7) and Teens (Grades 8-12).

StudyTime (30 minutes + 5-minutes transition time)
Study Time includes Bible stories, lessons, discussion, and different ways to help kids grow in their faith and knowledge, as they build personal relationships with Christ.  There will be opportunities to share, reflect, get energized, and ignite a passion for serving God and others.

Prayer Time (10-minutes)
Following worship/study time, all groups gather in the sanctuary, as each week’s program concludes with an opportunity for all participants to share prayer requests and/or praise reports.  This will be followed by a time of communal prayer.

Expectations
When we observe our calling to love the Lord our God with all our heart, all our soul, all our mind, all our strength; and also to love others as we love ourselves, there should be no need for lots of rules at KidZone!, however...

Trinity abides by the PCC’s “Leading with Care” policy, to create a safe environment for children and vulnerable adults. All participants in the KidZone! program have a right to spiritual, emotional, and physical safety. It is imperative that everyone (adult, youth and child) is treated respectfully, through the use of appropriate language and conduct.

FYI – at KidZone!, everyone will participate in all aspects of the program, as they are able, and everyone is expected to respect the rights of others to do so. Participants should also wear appropriate clothing and footwear, and care of the church building and property must also be respected by all.

Leaders in Training
In addition to participating, high school students can get involved as "Leaders in Training".  Willing students will have the opportunity to plan, co-ordinate, run and supervise the Fun & Games portion of the program each week. L.I.T. students may wish to arrange to have this weekly participation count towards their volunteer time credit at their respective high schools.

Expectations for Parents

Parents should make arrangements to have their child/children/youth arrive and depart safely and on time. Parents should also assist and encourage their kids at home, and consider volunteering in an aspect of the KidZone! program.  Note: Police Records Checks are required for all volunteers. Applications are available at Police Headquarters (on King William Street) and the application fee is payable by the applicant (2 pieces of ID are required for this process)
